Jacklyn Zeman, who played Bobbie Spencer on the popular soap opera “General Hospital” for 45 years, pἀssed away at the age of 70 after a brief fight with cἀncer, according to the actor’s family.

Executive producer Frank Valentini wrote on Twitter:

“Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional who brought so much positive energy with her to work.”

Jackie will be sorely missed, but our cast and staff will never forget her upbeat attitude. Our deepest c0ndolences go out to her friends, family, and especially her children Lacey and Cassidy.

Twitter users expressed their sorrow over the adored actress’s loss.

One fan remarked:

“I’ve watched her since 1978. She ACTUALLY IS General Hospital. She is only 70 years old, and only a few days ago, she appeared on General Hospital (GH) looking stunning. My sympathies go out to her family. Peace be with you, Jackie.”

Zeman received a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” for her portrayal of nurse Spencer in more than 800 “General Hospital” episodes. Zeman, a native of New Jersey, began acting in high school and went to New York University.
