Evil Dead Rise Trailer

The final trailer for Evil Dead Rise, the latest installment in the Evil Dead franchise, has come online with only nineteen days after its April 21st theatrical release, promising worldwide acclaim. The last trailer is embedded below there for your viewing pleasure.

After watching Lee Cronin’s first feature film as director, The Hole in the Ground, Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi personally selected him to write and direct the next installment in the franchise.

This is a summary of the plot that Cronin developed for Evil Dead Rise: Beth, exhausted from her journey, finally gets around to paying a visit to her older sister Ellie in Los Angeles, where Ellie is single-handedly caring for her three young children.

When a mysterious book is discovered in the basement of Ellie’s building, it disrupts the sisters’ reunion, unleashes fl*sh-eating demons and forces Beth into a fight for survival as she experiences the worst nightmare of parenthood.

The film was shot in New Zealand even though it is set in Los Angeles. The plot centers on two sisters who have grown apart, played by Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland.

Ellie’s three kids are portrayed by Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, and Nell Fisher. “An 18-year-old girl who is obsessed with fashion and Instagram,” Mia Challis’ character Jessica says. Jessica is brighter than she gives herself credit for, yet she enjoys being the focus of attention anyway.

Since he has long since departed from his role as Ash, Bruce Campbell does not appear in Evil Dead Rise in any acting capacity, but he did co-produce the film with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, who together own the rights to the franchise. Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, and Ghost House Pictures worked together on Evil Dead Rise.
