Abby’s character design and especially her muscular form has drawn criticism from certain fans. They said it was implausible for a lady to look that toned in a post-apocalyptic world where food and water were scἀrce and people didn’t put much value on staying in shape.
Women have been accomplishing remarkable physical achievements for almost a century, thus the claim that Abby’s body in The Last of Us Part II is unrealistic is absurd. Charmion, or Laverie Vallee, was a popular vaudeville performer in the early 20th century recognized for her acrobatic prowess and amazing strength.
She could easily lift her own body weight, do handstands on chairs and even pull weights with her teeth, all of which were astounding achievements. This was accomplished without any of the performance-enhancing drυgs or h0rmones commonly used by athletes today.

Charmion’s success proves that women don’t need artificial stimulants or other technological aids to achieve and maintain a muscular figure. The Last of Us Part II’s Abby is designed to be physically strong and fit and it’s logical to suppose that she would have had access to the same training facilities as Charmion.
To conclude, the claim that Abby’s body is unrealistic because of her gender is without merit given the plausibility of the game’s depiction of her.
