Is Working Moms Season 8 Canceled?

Catherine Reitman’s show Working Moms was started in 2017 on CBC. It was a comedy series that recently completed its seventh season. The series made fans curious to know about the next season of the series. Modern mommies create a group of judgemental mommies and share their problems with each other.

The comedy is great from her own experience in daily life. Focused on friendships, relationships, careers, identity crises and motherhood this series get the audience love. Amazing is that Catherine’s real-life husband, Philip Sternberg is her real-life husband Nathan.

Will there be a Working Mom Season 8?

Unfortunately, the seventh season was the final season of the series. The showrunner has not announced it for the next season. The series aired its final season in January 2023. It seems that reason behind the cancellation is the cast. The main-led cast wanted to leave the series to get some new opportunities.

But we can’t say it is canceled as we are not sure about that. Not officially announced if the show will be renewed or canceled.

Working Moms Season 8

This series was begun with the creator’s first mothers Day with her husband. They opened a banner Wolf+Rabbit and sold it to FX, but when FX pἀssed, they sold it to CBC. She was very hopeful for the second season as Honest to God, I was so hopeful that I would get to Season 2.

Reitman said:

“The first season was so based on my real-life experiences, my terror was that people would think I was some indulgent actress who wanted to drag my audience along with what it was to be a working mother from my point of view.”

When she looks back after season seven there are so many new moms Dani Kind, Juno Rinaldo and Jessalyn Wanlim including the showrunner. From season 6 Enuka Okuma joins us, with another cast Sarah McVie, Ryan Belleville and Nikki Duval.

With the series people connected with hearts as they went through the same problems in their life. Read here to confirm that the season seventh is a final season:

Reitman says:

“To hear that people not only watched it but felt really seen by it or identified with it. I [began feeling a responsibility in making the show. Not that I’m so important, but I felt a responsibility to the people who identify with it.”

Working Moms Season 8

In the sixth season, the team starts to talk about how to end the series. Reitman has a though perfect end for this. Reitman said:

There are flashbacks this season and they nod to the hero’s journey of each of our characters. As the creative teams have no plans so it is the right time to say goodbye to the audience.”

Netflix confirmed that the series is not coming for next season:

She explains:

“The shows I see that have turned into films often they’re such an insult to the show. I don’t think audiences enjoy it. A show exists at the time and in its iteration for a reason.”

“If an extraordinary concept came to me and the cast wanted to do it — if the perfect storm happened — I would never say never. But at this moment I feel we did such a good job of bringing these storylines to a close.”

In this way the farewell its audiences. It is interesting to know which show will replace it in the future. Keep following us on our Twitter account for more latest updates.
