Why Kevin Costner is leaving Yellowstone?
Rumors about Costner leaving the show coming from February 2023. Paramount now wants to make a new spin-off Dutton family-centered film led by Matthew McConaughey. Costner also wants to give his focus on his upcoming project Horizon.
Because his attention on different projects irritates Taylor, creator of the series. Several times in season 4 shooting he have to adjust for both series dates. So in the 5 seasons, he decided to sign a disagreement with Yellowstone. Because of him, other stars face problems.
About the upcoming half-season of the series McCarthy wouldn’t be what it is today without Kevin and we hope that that stays for a long time to come.

Paramounts also clear now about the departure of Kevin’s departure from the show. Paramount Network president of development & production Keith Cox said in April:
“What I can say is our star, the face of our show, and the executive producer, are very confident he’s going to continue with our show.”
Though Cox has some optimism about Kevin returning, he is not very clear now. But if Kevin does not return it doesn’t mean that the series will finish. They have another option, John Lucas. At PaleyFest, Sheridan said:
Always planned on at some point having Kevin dἰe and having multiple characters dἰe and so you know that that’s just … the evolution of what the ranch is.”
He continued:
“That’s why when you see the cemetery and you see the names of Elsa and you see the names of Jacob and you see these names, I think it’s, of course going to evolve and change and I think that’s what hopefully people will really like as it goes.”
Dawn Oliviery played Sarah Atwood’s character in the series who kἰlled once but return back again. She said:
“I’ve already been kἰlled once. I’m coming back to life. It happens to the best of us. I don’t know what’s going to happen with him. I hope I get the chance to work with him. I do.”
