According to a recent court document, at least eight of the Republican “fake electors” in Georgia have agreed to immunity bargains as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into efforts by Donald Trump and his allies to rig the state’s 2020 election.
All 16 Georgia GOP phony electors had already been informed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis that they were the subject of her inquiry. According to the lawsuit, Willis offered immunity deals to a number of the Republicans who voted in favor of Donald Trump last month and they accepted.
The recently secured cooperators may provide information about a crucial aspect of Willis’s extensive investigation into election interference: the attempts to present different slates of electors in order to prevent the certification of the 2020 presidential vote and the coordination of the effort by Trump’s allies.
According to those acquainted with the situation, other Republicans who voted for Trump may still be subject to legal repercussions as a result of her probe.
The Friday filing was Kimberly Burroughs Debrow’s reply to a previous Willis motion that sought to have Debrow removed from the case. Debrow opposed the motion to have her removed from the case because she represented some of the GOP’s fictitious electors in Georgia.
Debrow stated in the petition on Friday that “the District Attorney’s Motion is reckless, frivolous, offensive, and completely without merit.”
In an earlier court filing, the district attorney’s office claimed that the phony electors had started to implicate one another, posing a conflict for Debrow in her joint representation of the fake electors.
There is no merit to the District Attorney’s contention that any elector incriminated another in their recent interview, and the tapes and transcripts confirm it, Debrow said in his robust response.

Debrow and a lawyer she had previously collaborated with were also accused by the district attorney’s office of failing to present immunity proposals to the GOP fake electors back in 2022. Debrow refuted that claim as well, claiming that while the electors’ group had rejected “potential” amnesty offers the previous year, they had never really been offered immunity until this spring.
Willis recently informed neighborhood police enforcement in a letter that she intends to announce potential charges against Trump or his associates between July 11 and September 1.
