The professional tennis player Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit are expecting their second child. They have a 5-year-old daughter named Olympia and they tied the knot in November of 2017.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.”

Ohanian made a gestural reference to his wife’s pregnancy on the red carpet before the event. Williams also shared an image of self-portraits in which she could be seen holding her stomach.
Williams’ first pregnancy was a difficult one. The tennis pro had to have an emergency cesarean surgery and after giving birth, she had a coughing fit that caused her wound to reopen and doctors found many potentially fἀtal bl00d clots.
Williams told that she was lucky to be alive after the birth of her baby, but that she spent the next six weeks in bed recovering from childbirth and attempting to adjust to parenting. She said:
“I’ve been testing the limits of my body’s physἰcal capabilities my whole life and this is the one and only occasion when I was powerless to stop it. My body just wouldn’t cooperate. I gave it everything I had and then some. That was really tough.”
