The highly awaited sci-fi epic sequel “Dune: Part 2” has received its first official trailer, which was released by Warner Bros. The Dune: Part Two trailer promises that the follow-up from director Denis Villeneuve will have more action than the original.

When he debuted the first clip from the sequel last week at CinemaCon, Villeneuve expressed this idea. Villeneuve said:

“Part One is a more reflective film. An epic war film, Part Two is jam-packed with action. It is significantly denser. We visited a lot of new places. I didn’t want a sense of monotony. The sets are completely new. Every aspect is fresh.”

You can check out the trailer provided below:

The movie, produced by Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros., once again stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.

Along with Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica Atreides), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Stellan Skarsgrd (Baron Vladimir Harkonnen), Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban Harkonnen), Charlotte Rampling (Reverend Mother Mohiam) and Stephen McKinley Henderson (Thufir Hawat), other returning stars include Charlotte Rampling and Dave Bautista.

The trailer features an albino Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha, who Villeneuve has characterized as an “Olympic sword master crossed with a psychotic serial kἰller.” Christopher Walken as the Emperor and other new cast members include Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli.

Dune 2

The script for Dune: Part Two, which is based on the classic book by Frank Herbert was written by Villeneuve and Jon Spaihts. The original Dune was broadcast on HBO Max on the same day it was released and despite epidemic difficulties, it still managed to earn a respectable $400 million at the box office.

With six Oscars won and a nomination for best picture, it was also a contender for honors. According to Villeneuve, a third chapter based on Herbert’s Dune Messiah (1969), the second book in the series, may also pique his attention.
