Baby boy McKnight has been welcomed into the family of Brian. The “Back At One” singer, now 53, and his wife Leilani welcomed their second child, a son named Brian Kainoa Makoa McKnight, on Monday 1 May.
The Lord has heard our prayers and answered them with this child. Proverbs 1:27 McKnight and Leilani captioned a photo of themselves creating a heart with their hands around their newborn boy’s hand: “God’s greatest gift, our son is here!!!”
“Brian Kainoa Makoa McKnight We are so in love!!!! #iloveourlife #mylegacy #blessed #ohana #son #mrandmrsmcknight #knightandlei,” they added.
The couple currently has two children, a son named Jack and a daughter named Julia. McKnight is the father of Brian Jr. and Niko, kids from his marriage to ex-wife Julie McKnight (1990-2003), as well as Briana McKnight, a daughter from a previous relationship.
It was announced in November that the couple would be having a son. The singer wrote at the time, “So thankful for precious life and our growing OHANA!!!”
A rainbow baby, as McKnight described the new addition to her family in several Mother’s Day Instagram photos, was born to the couple after they had suffered a miscarriage.

In the caption of a photo of the family, he explains, “I treasure this picture it was our last family picture before the birth of our son Kekoa Matteo.” Leilani is visibly pregnant in the photo.
Leilani, he said, was the “greatest example of being a mother I’ve ever witnessed,” and he pointed out that Kekoa’s due date was Mother’s Day.
“I know how hard him not being here in the flesh with us is weighing incredibly heavy on us, but I know he is with us just like Julia and Jack are, as shining examples of your exceptional motherhood,” McKnight continued, applauding the “strength I saw in you through the loss of our son and the courage to deal with the hardest loss we’ve ever dealt with in our lives has been truly remarkable.”
