During his first recollection, Nicolas Cage was still in his mother’s womb. The 59-year-old actor has said he remembers seeing “faces in the dark” in the womb.
When asked on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ about his earliest recollection, the Hollywood actor responded, Let me think. Listen, I know this sounds crazy and I have no idea if it’s true, but sometimes I think I can remember being in the womb and having the sensation that I could see faces in the dark or something like that.
“I know that sounds powerfully abstract, but that somehow seems like maybe it happened.”
On the other hand, Nicolas admitted that “vocal vibrations” could have been the sole cause of his alleged recollections.
The actor said:
“Now that I am no longer in utero, I would have to imagine it was perhaps vocal vibrations resonating through to me at that stage. That’s going way back. I don’t know. That comes to mind … I don’t even know if I remember being in utero, but that thought has crossed my mind.”
The question of whether or not Nicolas has faith in the hereafter was also posed to him. The actor, who has received numerous honors over his career (including an Oscar and a Golden Globe), said that his “spark” would live on long after his deἀth.
