Gordon Lightfoot, a Canadian legend and a “rare talent,” as Bob Dylan once put it, was a folk singer-songwriter who pἀssed suddenly on Monday 1 May, in Toronto.
Age-84 Lightfoot was a man. Representative Victoria Lord said that Lightfoot pἀssed away early on Tuesday 2 May, in a Toronto hospital, but she would not go into further detail about his cause of deἀth. Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, paid tribute to the musician right away on Twitter.
Trudeau wrote:
“We have lost one of our greatest singer-songwriters.” Gordon Lightfoot helped create Canada’s soundscape by capturing the spirit of our nation in his music. May his legacy endure forever and may his songs continue to inspire future generations.

Lightfoot won 17 times at the Canadian equivalent, the Juno Award and received five Grammy nominations over the course of his career.
Additionally, he wrote more than 200 songs, many of which were covered by some of the most well-known musicians in history, including Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, and Bob Dylan.
