Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus have finally addressed the rumors of their separation.
“It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts,” reads a joint statement issued by the couple via a family representative. “We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.”
“We will always be family and look forward to a continued and loving shared experience as friends and parents. We have not come to this decision lightly or quickly but with so much going on in the world, we wanted to provide some clarity and closure, so we can remain focused on what is important,” continues the statement. “With Love and Hope… Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus.”
On the grounds of “irreconcilable differences,” Tish filed for divorce from her husband of more than 28 years last Wednesday in Williamson County, Tennessee, documents show. This is the third time the couple has filed for divorce, as first reported by TMZ. According to Tish’s declarations, she and Billy Ray, 60, haven’t lived together in more than two years.
Tish and Billy Ray married in 1993, and since then, the couple has raised three children: a daughter, Miley, now 29, a son, Noah and a daughter Braison. In addition to Tish’s daughter Brandi and son Trace the Doc actor adopted them both.

Tish filed for divorce again in June, three years later, but she and Billy Ray later assured fans that they could save their marriage with the help of marriage counseling.
“We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together,” the pair stated in a statement at the time. When asked about their relationship, the couple said, “We both went into couples therapy, which is something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways.”

Billy Ray acknowledged that the couple had taken a new, gentler approach to their relationship in a 2016 interview with PEOPLE. “It’s like everything in life,” the musician stated. One must go gradually. Take it day by day. Making modifications is crucial in life and relationships, in my opinion.
