The Book of Boba Fett published the year before, gave Star Wars fans a more in-depth look at what transpired after Han Solo threw the bounty hunter into the bowels of the Sarlacc. It turned out to be a must-see for fans of The Mandalorian, and there have been numerous whispers that the show may be renewed for a second season.
The book of Boba Fett season 2 is not guaranteed, given its smaller viewership compared to The Mandalorian. There’s still the allure of expanding the backstory of Din Djarin and Grogu through the continuation of that spinoff.
Still, it’s interesting to speculate on whether or not George Lucas’ original Mandalorian finished off on a satisfying note, whether Boba Fett’s solo exploits may contribute to Mando’s general development, and whether or not the series makes any sense at all.
What Happened in the Final Episode of Season 1 of “The Book of Boba Fett?”
The plot of the spinoff The Book of Boba Fett is straightforward: the protagonist narrowly avoids death in the Sarlacc, but it takes him some time to get back on his feet afterward. During this time, he began to fully embrace his newfound identity as a Tusken.
The new protagonist gets the honor of slaying one of the most infamous mercenaries in Star Wars, Cad Bane, in the climactic showdown with Boba Fett, Mando, and Fennec Shand. Boba Fett not only succeeds in freeing Freetown from the Pykes, but he also takes in the ferocious Rancor as a pet, which is enough of a weapon on its own to strike dread into the hearts of any would-be usurpers.
The introduction of a more civilized administration has helped Navarro flourish in the third season premiere of The Mandalorian, and Boba Fett may be able to do the same for his own domain.
The former bounty hunter in Book of Boba Fett isn’t too keen on the paperwork associated with his new job. His ability to forge alliances with groups such as the biker gang, however, demonstrates a more diplomatic side.

Is There Going to Be a Season 2 of “The Book of Boba Fett?”
Disney has so much Star Wars content planned until 2023, The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 is probably not getting the go-ahead without some sort of official announcement. Additionally, Disney hopes to take a new “quality over quantity” strategy to manage Marvel and Star Wars with Bob Iger’s return as CEO.
Suffice it to say that a second season of Book of Boba Fett shouldn’t be made if there aren’t any good things to tell. Regardless, Jon Favreau is responsible for both The Mandalorian and this prequel. Whether or not there is enough material for another round of solo Boba Fett definitely rests in his hands.
