After experiencing an “excruciating” neck injury, Katherine Heigl is recovering. The Firefly Lane actress revealed that she has a ruptured disc in her neck and that she had surgery to implant two titanium discs. She wrote in her Instagram post:
“Well…I am now bionic!! Two titanium discs now inhabit my neck and I can probably stand on my head for like hours…I’m not gonna try it just yet but give me a few months and I’ll blow your mind!!”

Heigl posted images of herself wearing a neck brace while recovering, as well as images of herself in the hospital with a bandage on her neck and an image of her X-rays, one of which shows the two titanium discs. The mother of three thanked her doctors for treating her agony but did not disclose how she had hurt herself.
She said:
“I am so deeply, deeply grateful to the incredible Dr’s and care team that saved me from the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced and blessed me with a new pain free lease on life! I really feel like they deserve a big giant shoutout of gratitude and appreciation so I’m gonna give it to them!”
The former Grey’s Anatomy star continued:
“@thebackdoctorapp thank you for treating me like a human being and giving me so much of your time and attention to help me truly understand what to expect and what all my options were. Thank you for saving my neck and for your incredible talent and knowledge! Thank you for your amazing and kind care.”
For the first time since the onset of the epidemic, the actress admitted on March 13, 2021, that she had to go from her home in Utah to Los Angeles to deal with a herniated disc in her neck. Heigl shared two videos of her husband, singer Josh Kelley encouraging her while she attended doctor’s appointments on Instagram.
She captioned in one post, “This is definitely the guy you want by your side during a health crisis.”
Katherine Heigl is now well after her neck surgery.
