The deἀth of Jerry Springer, host of his namesake talk show, on Thursday 27 April, marked the end of an era. According to a statement released by Jerry’s family, as reported by WLWT Chicago, Jerry pἀssed away quietly at his suburban Chicago home at the age of 79.
A longstanding friend and spokeswoman for Jerry, Jene Galbin, said, “Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried, whether that was politics, broadcasting, or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word.”
She continued, “He’s irreplaceable, and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intelligence, heart, and humor will live on.” Instead of sending flowers, his family suggests honoring his memory by helping those less fortunate or supporting an organization that fights for causes close to your heart. There was no immediate word on what caused the death.
Micki Velton, Jerry’s ex-wife and the mother of his child, is a member of Jerry’s family. In contrast, Jerry hinted at a possible marriage when he spoke on the HollywoodLife podcast in 2021.
