As retired diplomat Hal Wyler in his latest film, The Diplomat, Rufus plays a supporting role to wife Kate (Keri Russell) as she becomes the United States ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Rufus wed an Australian businesswoman in the fashion industry named Yasmin Abdallah back in 1999. The marriage didn’t last long and was over at the turn of the millennium in 2000.
