Six cows found deceἀsed and mutἰlated along a state highway in east-central Texas with their tongues “completely removed” have prompted a county sheriff’s office investigation, according to authorities.
Ranchers in Madison County reported a 6-year-old longhorn-cross cow lying deἀd and mutἰlated on her side, according to a release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, the cow’s tongue was removed “with no blood spill” and the hide around the cow’s mouth on one side was removed with a “straight, clean cut made with apparent precision.”
While investigating the demise of the longhorn cross, investigators discovered that five other cows had been discovered in similar brutal conditions. Officials stated that each cow was from a different pasture and herd and was discovered in a different location along the state highway in Brazos and Robertson counties.
On two of the cows, a circular incἰsion had been made to remove the external genitἀlia and the ἀnus. The sheriff’s office noted (reported on Facebook) –
“This circular cut was made with the same precision as the cuts noted around the jaw lines of each cow.”
According to officials, there were no indications of a struggle or bl00d spill, as well as no footprints or tire traces in the area surrounding any of the cows.
The sheriff’s office reports that it is coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to gather information, citing “multiple similar incidents” in the United States.
The sheriff’s office stated that the cause of deἀth of all six cows remains unexplained and urged anyone with information to come forward.
