Things aren’t looking good for the Mandalorians as season 3 of The Mandalorian winds down. Despite Bo-Katan’s (Katee Sackhoff) success in rallying the Mandalorian clans behind the Darksaber, Moff Gideon’s (Giancarlo Esposito) trap at the Great Forge on Mandalore catches her landing party unawares.
Meanwhile, when Din is kidnapped by the Empire, Grogu is once again separated from his father. The Mandalorians may soon find out that one of their own is a spy for Gideon, which might make a bad situation even worse.

What Happened in The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 7?
In the opening scene of Chapter 23, “The Spies,” Elia Kane has a holographic conference with none other than Moff Gideon in a seedy Coruscant back alley. She fills him in on the goings-on between Din Djarin and Bo-Katan, which are throwing a wrench into their plans.
After that, Gideon heads off to consult with a “Shadow Council” comprised of the remaining Imperial leaders. Grand Admiral Thrawn’s absence, “Project Necromancer,” and Gideon’s covert operations are all topics of conversation.
Bo-Katan and Din return to the planet Nevarro with a large fleet of Mandalorians. Mando receives a modified version of IG-11 from Greef Karga, which Grogu will wear as a sort of bodysuit for his height. Din is reluctant to let his adoptive son, Grogu, operate the droid suit, but Grogu is persistent.
The unified Mandalorians, following an awkward meeting between the Children of the Watch and the Nite Owls, set out to begin retaking Mandalore.
Bo-Katan leads a handful of Mandalorians to the surface of the planet. They discover, to their astonishment, that other Mandalorian survivors have also settled in the area since the collapse of their civilization.
Some members of the various Mandalorian groups get into a fight on the survivors’ ship, but Grogu puts a stop to it. When they were finally above the Great Forge, a monstrous creature attacked, and the crew had to make a hasty retreat.
