Jamell Maurice Demons, better known as YNW Melly, has been incarcerated since he was convicted of murdeɼ. On October 19, 2015, he was detained after he sh0t at three persons near Vero Beach High School; he has a history of violent behavior and was charged with three charges of aggravated assault with a dangerous weap0n and one count of discharging a firearm in public.
After serving a year in pris0n, he was granted probation and allowed to rejoin society. He was freed from pris0n in March of 2018 after being detained again in 2017 for probation violations.

Demons had another run-in with the law in June of 2018 when he was arrested in Fort Myers, Florida on charges of possession of marijuana, a weap0n, ammunition and drug paraphernalia while being a convicted felon.
Demons, along with fellow YNW rapper Cortlen Henry, is suspected of setting up the drive-by sh00ting deἀths of Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy) as a ruse. Henry took the wounded people to the hospital, where they ultimately succumbed to their injuries. The Demons officially capitulated on February 13.
