Emmanuel Eboue, a former Arsenal player and Ivory Coast international, has denied reports that he is currently cash-strapped. The ex-defender claims he is doing well financially despite rumors to the contrary following a contentious divorce from his ex-wife.
While he did lose some property in the divorce, he maintained his financial stability when speaking with Kofi Mensah on Empire FM Sports’ World.
It was unkind to imply that Emmanuel Eboue had lost everything. Since I recently went through a divorce and apparently my ex-wife came out on top. So they awarded her everything I own in England, including my two homes and my two automobiles.
I knew she would use the money to help take care of my kids, so I wasn’t too concerned. So I left and went back to Africa after that.
He elaborated, “I have my own properties in Africa, and so I live with that.” So it makes me giggle when I learn that Emmanuel Eboue has apparently lost everything. I have real estate holdings in both my native Ivory Coast and Ghana.
So, God bless me, I have a great life. People keep saying that Emmanuel Eboue has nothing; that he is hungry and homeless, and that he has nowhere to sleep.

What did Emmanuel Eboue say about his Property after Divorce?
Emmanuel Eboue, a former defensive back for Arsenal, has addressed rumors that he became utterly bankrupt after a nasty divorce fight in England caused him to lose all of his possessions around four years ago.
The Ivorian man allegedly lost everything to his ex-wife Aurelie Bertrand and is now homeless and struggling to make ends meet. In order to find shelter, Eboue reportedly stayed with relatives and acquaintances in other countries.
While talking to Kofi Mensah on Empire FM’s Sports World on Wednesday, Eboue dismissed the rumors, saying they were fabricated. It’s not nice when people say things like, ‘Emmanuel Eboue lost everything.’
Because I went through a divorce and the court sided with my wife, she now owns both of my homes in England as well as all of my cash and vehicles.
I knew she would put it to good use taking care of my kids, so I wasn’t concerned. Eboue acknowledges that the divorce verdict caused him depression. After moving back to Ivory Coast, the 37-year-old remarried his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Boedé.
After announcing his retirement from football in October 2020, Emmanuel Eboue is now the owner and director of an Ivorian football academy.
