Fans of the Oshi no Ko manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari are demanding more episodes after the launch of the television anime adaptation. The film-length pilot has captivated audiences and brought attention to the series as a potential frontrunner for the best anime of Spring 2023.
While next week’s episode of Oshi no Ko won’t be quite as long, the tale will continue in the week after that, with 9 more episodes to follow to complete the first season’s total of 11. Many viewers, however, may have missed important details in the pilot episode because of its excessive length.
Fans are also keen to refresh their memories on the circumstances surrounding the murdeɼ of Ai Hoshino, Aqua’s mother. In this post, I will explain in detail who kἰlled Ai in Oshi no Ko, why they did it, and how they carried it out.

In the first episode of Oshi no Ko, the sad death of Ai Hoshino occurs shortly after the character is introduced
As the first episode of Oshi no Ko continues, viewers see Ai Hoshino give up her celebrity lifestyle in favor of starting a family. It was alluded to throughout the first episode that she lacks a true family life of her own growing up, and that this is the precise cause of her actions.
She was at the pinnacle of her job, yet she decided to walk away to pursue this one goal instead. While it might be safe to assume that any kind of person would get this, it appears that one particularly deranged supporter couldn’t.
Ryosuke, a huge Ai fan, voiced his displeasure with her decision right away in the pilot episode of Oshi no Ko. After hearing the news that Ai was pregnant from an anonymous source, fans observed an angry Ryosuke head to the hospital where Ai was staying, drawing the suspicion of Gorou Amemiya.

The ensuing chase resulted in Ryosuke kἰlling Gorou, who was then resurrected as Aqua, Ai’s son.

After some time had passed, Ryosuke found out from the same unknown source who had given him Ai’s old location where she now lived. He then entered the apartment, where he fatally stabbed Ai with the knife he had hidden in a bunch of white roses. He immediately exploded at Ai, berating her for her decisions and holding her responsible for everything that had gone wrong.
The first episode of Oshi no Ko concluded with Ai telling Ryosuke how much she appreciates her audience. She recalled every detail, down to the star sand he had given her and his name. Ryosuke was frightened and perplexed by Ai’s generosity, and he eventually took his own life.
The investigation into Ai’s murdeɼ was cut short when Ryosuke passed away. Consequently, Aqua Hoshino was responsible for identifying the unknown accomplice responsible for Ai’s death and bringing him to justice.
