Nicolas Cage, who has won an Oscar, has become famous for his outspoken rants and total immersion in the roles he plays, no matter how ridiculous they may be. Cage’s early portrayal as a business executive who thinks he’s been bitten by a vampire in the cult movie Vampire’s Kiss (1988) is largely responsible for this.

Since that groundbreaking masterpiece, fans have yearned for the day that Nicolas Cage would don the cape and fangs of the most infamous vampire of them all, Dracula. Later this week, you’ll be able to get your hands on Renfield (2023), a fresh, contemporary take on the literary villain that offers a new angle on familiar themes.

Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) is back with a new film, and as the title suggests, the focus will be on the villainous figure Renfield, who is like Igor to Count Dracula’s, Doctor Frankenstein. Renfield was a bug-eating maniac in Bram Stoker’s original story who brought victims to Dracula for the promise of immortality.

Renfield’s moral questions make the character more approachable, and he ultimately decides he doesn’t want to be a slave to an everlasting monster.

Fans were already excited about the new horror comedy because it starred Nicolas Cage as Dracula, but the addition of Nicholas Holt and Awkwafina made it an absolute must-see. The only remaining question is how to view Renfield.

Definitely not right now. Renfield, being a Universal film, has the most chance of landing on Peacock for a streaming release when its theatrical run ends, though this has not been confirmed as of yet. In theory, you may access Peacock without paying anything, but the vast majority of its high-profile movies and episodes are only accessible with a paid premium subscription.

Renfield Trailer

On January 5, 2023, the first Renfield trailer was released, and it begins with a neurotic Renfield (Nicholas Holt) interrupting a therapy session and saying he wants out of a bad relationship. Everyone else in treatment assumes Renfield is fleeing an abusive boss or partner, but eventually, they realize his predicament is far more otherworldly in origin.

Renfield, doomed by continuous guilt for handing over innocent victims to a bloodthirsty threat, takes solace in using the abilities bestowed upon him by Dracula to fend off a gang of ruthless robbers. Renfield eventually abandons his master and decides to live on his own after meeting police woman Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina). Renfield’s primary challenge now is breaking the news that he is resigning to his immortal and all-powerful master.
