On May 2, 1995, Figueroa was born to Joan Sebastian and Maribel Guardia, two well-known individuals in their own right. On April 8 he published his final Instagram photo, a tribute to his father Joan, who had passed away in 2015.

He said, “Eight years have gone and time has moved so slowly that it tastes bitter since the day you left.” Some say that time heals all wounds, but it’s a horrible falsehood; the pain just increases with the passage of time.

To which Figueroa replied, “Fans acclaim, ‘Long live the People’s Poet,’ but I don’t care; I just want my father. I could care less if I win any Grammys or become rich and famous if I can’t just hug you one more time. If losing you, Dad has hurt this much, it’s because your life meant so much to me.

In the 2016 TelevisaUnivision bio series Para Siempre Joan Sebastian, Figueroa played the young version of his father.
