For Logan Roy, deἀth occurs four seasons and three episodes into Succession, right in the middle of his son’s wedding. As is customary for the HBO show human fragility manifests itself in a shocking manner: Somewhere over the Atlantic, Brian Cox’s media mogul dἰes of heart failure while on his way to clinching another deal to sell off much of his business to a Swedish billionaire.
While their father receives CPR on a medical boat in New York Harbor, Logan’s kids can only listen in via a phone chat with Tom. Cox argues that Logan’s deἀth was a foregone conclusion: You need something to succeed from since the term is Succession.

He’s proud that he’s been able to conceal Logan’s deἀth and the final scenes Logan taped with his security guard Colin (Scott Nicholson) and his assistant-turned-lover, Kerry (Zo Winters), for so long.
He is not passionate about the series’ conclusion and takes a pragmatic view of the whole thing, likening playing Logan to Shakespearean kings like Lear and Henry IV. He’s not the type to wonder what comes next or if Logan would be okay with how his kids are handling a statement about his passing. “I don’t know, since I’m dead!”
Succession has been on HBO since 2018 and its central mystery has always been which Roy’s son or daughter would succeed their father Logan Roy (Brian Cox) as CEO of Waystar RoyCo upon his deἀth. The end of Logan Roy’s story was predetermined from the start.

How did Logan Roy Dἰe in Succession Season 4?
Reports said that Logan is really dead in Succession Season 4. It’s possible that Roman was in denial about Logan Roy’s deἀth and holding out hope that a doctor could revive his father on the ground. Logan’s three younger children hastily say their goodbyes as he continues to get chest compressions, as the reports indicate.
Roman goes first and in his haste, he forgets to tell his father that he loves him. Later, Kendall tries to tell his little brother that he actually did say, “I love you.” After Kendall’s “We love you” declaration to Logan. He searches for his sister Shiv, saying “I love you” and “I can’t forgive you” at the same time.
The expression on his face tells her someone has dἰed as he pulls her apart from the pre-wedding reception. She initially thinks it’s their mother, but later realizes she was using the question as a coping strategy after realizing it’s Logan.
Shiv is able to express her feelings for Logan, but it’s not obvious if he hears her. Even though he is technically dead and being given compressions, some scientists say that hearing is the last sense to disappear. Could Logan possibly be aware of what is going on around him at this point? Connor’s attitude is icy when they tell him, believing that Logan has never liked him.
Karolina (Dagmara Dominczyk) is all business while Kerry (Zoe Winters) is a hot mess on the plane. Both the plane’s crew and the kids on the ground struggle for narrative dominance, leading to some tension. Despite Kendall’s best efforts to rally his siblings, Shiv ends up giving a statement to the press with the backing of her brothers once the plane arrives and the news spreads.
