Raquel Welch, an actress who rose to fame in the 1960s, has died at the age of 82, according to a statement published by her manager, Steve Sauer. The actress got her start as a spokesmodel on the variety show “Hollywood Palace” and she later played a supporting role in Elvis Presley’s “Roustabout” in 1964.
Reese Witherspoon, who co-starred with Welch in the 2001 comedy Legally Blonde, was among the many celebrities who paid tribute to her after hearing the tragic news of her passing. Witherspoon tweeted: “She was elegant, professional and glamorous beyond belief. Simply stunning. May all her angels carry her home.”
