The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen began in October 2020, and since then, it has become a highly popular supernatural shonen anime, much to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The story follows Yuji Itadori, an extraordinarily strong high school student who becomes the inadvertent host to Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful curse spirit who intends to recover his material form and destroy the human world. Yuji enrolls as an apprentice “jujutsu sorcerer” at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
A second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has been announced, and production is already underway on it. This comes after the release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a feature-length film that takes place before the events of the first season and follows the story of a fellow apprentice jujutsu sorcerer named Yuta Okkotsu. Here’s the latest information about when to watch for Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 in the works?
Yes. The announcement of season two of Jujutsu Kaisen was made in February at a stage event following the release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which had grossed over $85.1 million in Japan since its release on December 24.

Premiering in July and ending in late December or early January, the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will air continuously for two “cours” (Japanese broadcast seasons, three months each).
The manga’s Gojo’s Past storyline, which revolves around Satoru Gojo’s second year at Tokyo Jujutsu High, and the Shibuya Incident arc, which deals with the events immediately following the conclusion of season 1, will also be adapted into episodes of the anime. Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will begin with a “cour” set in 2006, around ten years before the events of the first season’s present day.
This season’s second cour (the “Shibuya Incident arc”) will mark Yuta Okkotsu’s first appearance in the anime since his introduction in the 2021 theatrical film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
When will the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 be available on Crunchyroll and Netflix?
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has yet to be licensed for North American distribution, and it is unclear which streaming service will end up with those rights.
Still, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is expected to be simulcast on Crunchyroll, or at least appear on the site at some point in the future, given that the series has already been simulcast on the service and considering the merger of Crunchyroll and Funimation this past year.
