In 2006, Alexandra Ducsay, a dancer and aspiring actress, disappeared from her home in Milford, Connecticut, and her unidentified body was discovered a few days later. There were traces of a battle, including bl00d-splashed walls and a bl00dy carpet, at the crime scene her mother uncovered. She had died from blunt force trauma to the head, as was later determined by the autopsy.
Crime scene evidence, witness accounts, and a key tip led authorities to her ex-boyfriend and convicted murd*rer, Matthew Pugh, six years after the murd*r took place. In 2015, a jury convicted him guilty based on evidence including his cousin’s testimony that he k!lled the 26-year-old as revenge.
ID’s A Time to K!ll will air an episode centered on the murd*r investigation of Alexandra Ducsay. Curtain Call is described as follows in the episode’s official synopsis:

A kitchen knife blade was discovered near the body, and one of her dancing trophies, which had gone missing, was identified as the murd*r implement. A piece of black vinyl tape was also discovered adhered to her face by the police.
Her Boyfriend said her ex-boyfriend had visited her Recently
Ducsay’s boyfriend at the time, Jason Malone, a coworker at the local bank where she worked as a systems analyst, told investigators that he was on a call with her that afternoon. A date for that night was already in the works, he added, but then he overheard her say:
“What are you doing here?”
She then informed Malone that her exe was currently residing at her home.
The investigation revealed that the 26-year-old and her former lover, Matthew Pugh, had a tumultuous history together. They were a couple in the past, but Pugh went to jail for his drug crimes. Once she broke up with him, their pen-pal correspondence escalated to threats and abuse. Even after Ducsay reported him, he was still receiving dea†h threats after they had him released.
Six years after the crime, a suspect was apprehended with the help of a critical tip and unique evidence from the scene
About six years passed before one of Matthew Pugh’s cousins gave detectives a break in the Ducsay case in January 2012. They claimed that Pugh had informed him, before the murd*r, of his plans to k!ll the 26-year-old in retaliation for the times she had reported him for harassment.

The ex-boyfriend was found guilty of mur*ering Alexandra Ducsay almost nine years after the murd*r took place
In March 2015, a jury found Matthew Pugh guilty of murd*r and robbery in connection with the dea†h of Ducsay. The victim’s mother testified that “justice prevailed over evil” and that prosecutor Kevin Lawlor termed her murd*r “one of the most horrible” crimes during the trial.
Pugh received a total of 60 years in prison for his role in the murd*r, with the first-degree robbery conviction carrying an additional 20 years in prison.
