It’s not surprising that Netflix has ordered another installment of Adam Sandler’s Murder Mystery comedy given the success of the first film in the series. Post-production has been ongoing ever since filming wrapped in 2022. With a release date of March 31, 2023, officially set for the film, here is our latest peek ahead.
The upcoming Netflix Original comedy film Murder Mystery 2 is the follow-up to 2019’s smash hit Murder Mystery. Kyle Newacheck has been replaced as project director by Jeremy Garelick, however, James Vanderbilt will be writing the sequel.
Murder Mystery has become one of Netflix’s most popular Originals ever, with over 83 million subscribers.
When will Murder Mystery 2 be available on Netflix?
The premiere date was announced as part of USA Today’s 2023 slate reveal, which placed it in the month of March.
A few weeks later, on March 31st, 2023, Netflix announced the internationally available streaming of the film.

Nick and Audrey’s Amusing adventures are set to resume in Murder Mystery 2
The official trailer for Murder Mystery 2 was released by Netflix on January 30, 2023, and it gives viewers a taste of the many shocking and funny moments they can expect to see in the comedy film.
In a stunning opening shot of the Eiffel Tower, the two protagonists are introduced as their van crashes into a restaurant. Several pivotal scenes from the film are then depicted, but no significant spoilers are revealed.
Netflix has released the movie’s official synopsis on their YouTube channel alongside the trailer which states:
”Four years after solving their first murder mystery, Nick and Audrey Spitz (Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston) are now full-time detectives struggling to get their private eye agency off the ground when they’re invited to celebrate the wedding of their friend the Maharaja (Adeel Akhtar) on his private island.”
If the trailer and synopsis are any indications, this will be another offbeat mystery comedy film following Nick and Audrey as they continue their (mis)adventures. Critics and audiences had a range of reactions to the first picture, but they were mostly good. Netflix also attracted a sizable audience.
