Police in Nashville, Tennessee, have named 28-year-old Audrey Hale, who may have been a former student at the Covenant School, as the sh0oter in Monday’s (27 March) mass sh0oting.
According to a website that seems to be affiliated with Hale, Hale was a graphic designer and illustrator based in Nashville who worked on logos and branding to “help convey a company’s story” and “provide a whimsical and light-hearted atmosphere.”
Despite having been assigned female at birth, a police official informed that Hale had used the pronouns “he” and “him” on a social media account associated with her.
Norma Hale, Hale’s mother, spoke briefly on the phone with ABC News, saying, “It is very, very difficult right now.” The family has since asked for privacy.
They may have lost her daughter today, she said.
According to ABC News aforementioned, a neighbor of the family described Audrey Hale and her parents as “extremely lovely” and “quite religious.”
Cyrus Vatandoost, president and CEO of Nashville’s Nossi College of Art & Design, confirmed to ABC News that Hale had graduated from the school in 2022.

According to Vatandoost, Hale was “a remarkable artist and a good student” during her time at their institution. We are praying for her loved ones, the victims, and the city as a whole.
At least one academic award was given to Hale, according to a now-deleted Facebook post from the school.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Hale lists his love of “binge-viewing” television shows, “watching movies,” and “playing sports” as his favorite pastimes. “The inner child in me yearns to escape to the playground and run around. My two kitties and I share my second passion for animal welfare.”

Hale has listed cat-sitting and part-time jobs with the food delivery business Shipt on her LinkedIn profile. The Covenant School was founded in 2001 and is a private Presbyterian school serving around 200 children in grades pre-K through 6.
