The first teaser for the spinoff series “The Walking Dead: Dead City” starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan was released on Sunday (March 25) by AMC executives.
The actresses will reprise their roles as Maggie Greene and Negan, respectively and fans are anticipating the latter’s antics. Showrunner for Dead City will be Eli Jorné who contributed to The Walking Dead as a writer, producer and co-executive producer.
His extensive background in the film industry will undoubtedly lead to some compelling story developments. Following the conclusion of the prior series, this new endeavor will continue investigation into a post-apocalyptic New York City in an effort to locate Maggie’s kidnapped son, Hershel.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Trailer
AMC’s WonderCon presentation for The Walking Dead spinoff Dead City, a heck of a trailer was released, revealing the source of the animosity between Maggie and Negan. She tells the Saviors’ pseudo-redeemed former leader that her son Hershel has been kidnapped by some bad guy and that she is the key to bringing him back.
The characters encounter the dead and residents who have created New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror along their journey.
Fans of the franchise are curious to see how Maggie and Negan, who was responsible for the horrible death of her husband Glenn, could cooperate in the midst of such upheaval and with such deep prior resentments.
Gaius Charles, Eljko Ivanek, Jonathan Higginbotham, Mahina Napoleon, Trey Santiago-Hudson, Charlie Soli and Michael Anthony are among the other well-known actors set to appear in Dead City.

The network announced the summer premiere of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” alongside the teaser. According to Deadline, the premiere will air on AMC and AMC+ on June 18 at 10 p.m. After the premiere, new episodes will air every Monday at 9 p.m.
According to AMC’s synopsis, the newest Walking Dead spinoff will follow Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they explore a post-apocalyptic Manhattan that has been isolated for quite some time.
The dead and the residents who have made New York City its own realm of chaos, danger, beauty and terror flood the decaying city, the network says.
