During this week, Stephen A. Smith, host of a sports media talk show, attacked Fox News star Tucker Carlson, criticizing Carlson for his recent coverage of the attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters on January 6, 2021.
As Carlson minimized the uprising, Smith stated, “That ticked me off” on a recent episode of his podcast. Simply put, it was true. I’m not going to apologize because, in my opinion, this is just politics. Five lives were lost. The U.S. Capitol was surrounded by thousands of protesters.
“For Tucker Carlson to go on national TV and highlight how everyone wasn’t violent. The fact of the matter is, they followed the people in.
They got in because the violent protesters kicked in windows, kicked down doors, bum-rushed through law enforcement officials … It’s an insult to our intelligence to say not everyone was violent ” he continued. “When Tucker Carlson points something like that out, it’s like, you are smart enough to know that’s bulls— that you’re spewing. You know better than that.”
After being provided unprecedented access to additional film from that day’s riot by Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Tucker Carlson has been under significant fire for his framing of the Capitol attack in recent segments of his show (R-Calif.)
He has frequently minimized the seriousness of the attack on the Capitol, including a description of the breach as “mainly peaceful turmoil” during an episode earlier this month.
You can also take a look at what other information we have got about Jan 6 Tucker Carlson footage:
Smith, a veteran sports commentator who occasionally shares his thoughts on politics and current events, has stated that he is not an “aficionado” of politics but that it is “common sense” that the events of January 6 were violent in character, having injured over a hundred police officers.
