Marisol Malaret Contreras was a Puerto Rican television host, model and beauty queen. She won the title of Miss Universe in 1970, making history as the first person of Puerto Rican and Caribbean descent to do so.
On Sunday, March 19, 2023, she di*d at the age of 73 and her cause of de@th is unknown yet.

Malaret entered this world on October 13, 1949, in the town of Utuado, Puerto Rico. Due to the loss of her father and her mother’s persistent illness, she was forced to enter the workforce at a young age.
Anna Santisteban, a Puerto Rican modeling expert and businesswoman, reportedly convinced her to enter the Miss Puerto Rico contest, which Andino ran.
Malaret was the beloved of the locals because of her strong will immaculate ethics and gorgeous beauty. Before her victory, she was an executive secretary at the Puerto Rico Telephone Company. Jess was Malaret’s only full-blooded sibling, but he also had five half-siblings: Alicia, Rita, Antonio and Raul.
Her mom and dad’s names were Lydia Contreras and José Antonio Malaret. She wed male models Butch James and Corky Stroman. Her third husband is Cuban-born engineer Frank Cué.
She was given what was at the time the largest-ever welcome at San Juan’s Luis Muoz Marn International Airport after she was crowned Miss Universe. “There was a “50,000 turnout in San Juan to commemorate a Queen,” as stated by the New York Times.
Vea, Teve Gua, Artistas, Estrellas and Estrellitas are just some of the Puerto Rican and worldwide entertainment and gossip magazines that have featured Malaret on their covers. She has been in a number of commercials and is also a motivational speaker who addresses groups of young women and aspiring business leaders.
