About Carrie Coon and Tracy Letts’s Married Life
Due to their unusual circumstances, in September 2013 Coons and Letts got married in a hospital instead of the usual places people get married, such as a church or a beach.
The night before the planned courthouse wedding, Letts experienced severe discomfort and needed emergency gallbladder surgery. The pair was so committed to getting married that they didn’t even let the prospect of surgery derail their preparations.
In the interview with Vanity Fair, Letts revealed, “My wedding was in a hospital after my emergency gallbladder surgery. We were goino to the courthouse to get married, and the night before, I suddenly came down with pains. We went to the emergency room, and I had my gallbladder removed the next day.”
Letts claim that after some searching, Coon located a Lutheran chaplain at the hospital who had never conducted a wedding before and went forward with the ceremony. The chaplain arrived at their hospital room and officiated a beautiful, private wedding.
