In terms of both quality and scope, there are no bounds to the potential of anime as a medium. Quite a few artists have traced their passion for art back to early exposure to anime. Although not all anime feature eye-popping animation, those that do may blow audiences away.
In particular, this is true of the great Ghibli films which have long been praised for their breathtaking visuals and heartwarming narratives. Yet, there are much additional anime with strikingly beautiful animation; the following list discusses only a small sampling of those who push the medium to new heights.

Bakemonogatari
Studio Shaft has also adapted the light novel series Bakemonogatari into an anime. The unusual graphics, like Madoka’s propel the tale along by establishing a universe that is both unfamiliar and intriguing to the audience. The strange and amazing happenings in Araragi’s world are etched out through a combination of visual imagery and world play.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Studio Shaft’s Madoka Magica caught everyone by surprise when it was initially released. When the girls enter a witch’s labyrinth, the show’s abstract images take on a dreamlike quality. The witches’ otherworldliness is emphasized, and the audience is unnerved, through images that veer on the verge of being sickly sweet and scary.
