Actor Sam Neill, who is most known for his roles in the “Jurassic Park” films, has just been diagnosed with stage III blood cancer, but he has since successfully completed treatment and is cancer-free, as he writes in his upcoming biography.
In an interview with the Guardian, Neill revealed that he had been diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma and had undergone chemotherapy to treat it. According to the source, he has started taking a relatively new chemotherapy treatment that he will continue to take for months for the remainder of his life.
“I’m not off the hook as such, but there’s no cancer in my body,” Neill said to the media.
According to CNN, Neill’s spokesperson confirmed that he is currently in remission.
I can’t pretend the last year hasn’t had its sad moments,” Neill said candidly in the interview. Such low points have helped me appreciate each new day and my many friends that much more. Happy to be here and breathing, that’s all.
