Alessandra Verni, Pamela’s distraught mother met Innocent Oseghalein in Perugia court wearing a T-shirt depicting gory details from her daughter’s autopsy. The photos, which have never been seen by the public before, depict Pamela’s severed head and other body parts on a pathologist’s table.

In the hallway outside the courthouse, Alessandra made the following statement:

“Have you seen what they did to her? That man, who raped and tortured her, should rot in jail.”

She and Oseghale were shouting at each other in court and police had to physically separate them.

Oseghale said, “Enough judicial oppression!” and after that Alessandra then stormed over to him and screamed: “Tell me what you want.”

She explained, she wore the shirt as a “wake-up call”. She added:

“After five years I am losing faith in justice. I wonder what is the point of re-prosecuting Oseghale, questioning s*xual violence and opening up the possibility of a sentence reduction”.

“Did he not exercise enough violence to merit life imprisonment? Anyone who saw those images knew that if they were made public they would shake consciences.”

Alessandra reiterated her request for assistance in locating Oseghale’s enablers. She said:

“There were other people with Osenghale the day he killed Pamela. I feel that no one is being investigated. No one is looking for these men.”

Pamela Mastropietro severed body parts was discovered by a shocked walker in a set of bags left in a ditch. At Oseghale’s house, police found the teen’s bloodied clothing. He said an overdose killed Pamela, but an examination showed she was actually stabbed multiple times in the stomach.

Oseghale, an asylum seeker from Nigeria arrived in Italy in 2014 but soon stopped participating in a refugee support program and began dealing narcotics instead.
