The American writer, author and newspaper editor Loretta McLaughlin is widely recognized for her work. McLaughlin, a reporter for the Boston Record American in 1962, covered the case of the Boston Strangler killings alongside Jean Harris.
When she made the link between the murders, she was the first journalist to report on the serial killer. In 1992, she became the second woman in Boston Globe history to hold the position of Editorial Page Editor.
