Lance Reddick aka Cedric Daniels from The Wire takes his last breath according to his representative. Though he was only 60 his representative, Mia Hansen herself confirm his death new.
She said Lance Reddick died on Friday (17 March) morning “from natural causes.” “Lance will be greatly missed.” Reddic was a popular actor who always remembers the serious and intense characters he played. He debuted his career in the 90s with shows like “New York Undercover” and “The West Wing.”
During his teenage when he lived in Baltimore he wanted to become a singer. To fulfill his dreams he enters Hollywood to get a start. But when getting roles in theaters when he was 29, he turned towards acting and applied to Yale University to learn drama.
“Wire” creator David Simon auditioned him for the first time for “the Corner” which was an HBO project. But he was rejected. But his first role was in the “Oz” HBO series as a detective. Later he was selected as Narcotics Unit Lt. Daniels.
“The Wire” create controversies but it was not a big hit. “I thought it would be a hit but I didn’t anticipate that it would take so long to catch on, or that it would become this phenomenon,” Reddick said. “Or that it would be so ignored by the industry. That really floored me, because I knew how good we were; we all did.”
His co-star in Wire, Wendall Pierce said to remember Reddick, a “man of great strength and grace” after his death.
“As talented a musician as he was an actor,” Pierce wrote. “The epitome of class. A sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here.”
Reddick’s other remarkable series are “The Wire”, “Lost” and Fox sci-fi series “Fringe,” Amazon’s “Bosch” and, the latest Netflix version of “Resident Evil.”

In 2019 he said that his character in “Lost” was decided to make a regular show but before that, he was signed for “Fringe.” Though it was run for a short time it get huge popularity for Reddic especially.
“That was the first time fans were really weird. I was living in New York at the time, and it seemed like everybody was stopping me to talk about ‘Lost.’ I went from small, niche notoriety to being completely recognizable,” he said.
He also supported work in John Wick films like “One Night in Miami,” “Godzilla vs. Kong” and the upcoming remake “White Men Can’t Jump.”
He also appeared as a guest star in the “Young Sheldon” sitcom and the sketch show “Key and Peele.” He provided his voice in two video games Commander Zavala in Bungie’s Destiny and Destiny 2. “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick,” Chad Stahelski, the director of “John Wick: Chapter Four,” and Reddick’s co-star, Keanu Reeves, said. “He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with.”
“Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family, and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly.”
“He’s also very shy. This is going to sound really weird, but — he seems simple, but spiritually he’s very advanced,” Reddick said at the time, later adding: “On one hand I feel like I don’t know him very well but on the other, I just adore that guy. He’s such a wonderful human being.” (according to people)
