Kellie Pickler’s husband Kyle Jacobs was found dead from a gunshot wound in their Nashville home, the autopsy was done and officials are awaiting toxicology findings.

A gunshot wound was discovered in an upstairs bedroom/office of their four-bedroom $2.3 million estate on February 17, 2023, where Jacobs, 49 was found dead.

The autopsy of Kellie Pickler’s husband, composer Kyle Jacobs, has been finished, but authorities in Tennessee are still awaiting toxicology findings. This comes days after Jacobs was discovered with a gunshot wound in the couple’s Nashville home.

On February 17, 2023, in their four-bedroom $2.3 million estate, Jacobs, 49, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in an upstairs bedroom/office.

Metro Nashville Police said in a statement that they were treating his death “as suspicious” and that they believed it to be a suicide. Kellie Pickler, Mr. Jacobs’ wife, said she woke up not too long ago, looked around and couldn’t find him. Her assistant called the police when she and she couldn’t get into the upstairs bedroom/office.

An autopsy has been conducted, and the body has been delivered to the family. The toxicology analysis that will reveal the composition of his blood has not yet been completed, therefore the police are still “open” on their inquiry into his death.

Police spokeswoman Noella Yazdani told RadarOnline.com the case is still being investigated as an apparent suicide; however, the official determination will be made after the publication of the autopsy report and toxicology results.

Bailey Floyd, the administrative services assistant at the Office of the State Medical Examiner informed the autopsy was conducted at the Tennessee Regional Forensic Center. We’re told the toxicology might take between 60 and 90 days.

Jacobs, who co-wrote Garth Brooks’ #1 song “More Than a Memory,” and collaborated with his wife, Tim McGraw, Scotty McCreery, Darius Rucker and Wynona Judd, among others, was cremated, according to his obituary on Findagrave.com.

The night before his untimely passing, Jacobs announced the announcement of Lee Brice’s album Hello World hitting platinum status on Instagram.

Jacob’s post read: “Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together…Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you Jesus!”
