Kasie Hunt now has two children. A representative for Hunt tells that the 37-year-old CNN anchor and chief national affairs expert and her husband, Matthew Mario Rivera, have welcomed their second child, a daughter.
Grey Hunt Rivera, the couple’s daughter, was born on March 1 weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
“We are thrilled to announce the birth of our baby girl, Grey Hunt Rivera. Proud big brother [Mars Hunt, 3½] can’t stop talking about his new baby sister,” the parents of two share.
The birth of Grey at home “after 13 minutes of sudden labor” will be an experience that the foursome will never forget.
“After 13 minutes of unexpected labor, Grey was born at home early on Wednesday morning, before anyone could call the paramedics. Dad rushed into action and delivered baby Grey on the bathroom floor “Look for shares.
“We are so grateful to the 911 operators and the DC Fire & EMS team. Step-by-step, they talked us through the incredibly intense moments right after she was born and as she took her first breaths,” the pair continues.
“Thank you to the firefighters and paramedics on the scene who treated mom and baby at home and then brought us safely to Sibley Hospital in Washington. It’s a day we’ll never forget!”

Announcing the pregnancy news with PEOPLE exclusively in December, Hunt added that Mars couldn’t “wait to be a big brother.”
For Halloween, he insisted that the baby have her own pumpkin. When we were decorating for Christmas, he asked me to put up a stocking for ‘baby sister,’ ” she added.
He requested me to hang a stocking for his “baby sister” as we were decking the halls for Christmas “She continued.
Hunt confirmed in October 2021 that she underwent a four-hour procedure that month to remove a benign brain tumor. When Hunt started working for CNN in August 2021, she learned about her illness.
“We are thrilled to be able to celebrate this after the health trials I had over the past year,” said Hunt. “Expanding the love in our lives is the perfect way to keep healing.”
“We have so much to be grateful for this holiday season,” she added.
Hunt and Rivera met while they were both working for NBC News in Washington, and they later married in 2017 at Shenandoah Woods in Stanley, Virginia.
