Alex Murdaugh, a convicted killer who was given two consecutive life terms for the murders of his wife and children, shaved his head for his most recent mugshot.

After being booked into South Carolina’s Kirkland Reception and Assessment Center on Friday, the disgraced former lawyer, who wore his characteristic red hair for most of his murder trial, stared coldly ahead while dressed in a yellow jumpsuit.

Fox News said that he will spend the next 45 days in solitary confinement at the maximum-security, level-three jail in Columbia. The decision on Murdaugh’s future living arrangements has not yet been made.

“He will be assessed, and we will determine what his permanent placement will be,” a source familiar with the matter told Fox.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections claims that Murdaugh, “like all detainees,” will be subjected to a battery of medical and psychological exams, as well as a test of his literacy and numeracy skills.

According to WLTX, all incoming male convicts in South Carolina are required to undergo haircuts. The SCDC has stated that following the evaluation, Murdaugh will be transferred to a maximum-security prison in the state to serve out the remainder of his two life sentences.

The jury deliberated for just under three hours before finding the 54-year-old defendant guilty of June 7, 2021, shooting deaths of his wife Maggie, 52, and their son Paul, 22.

Murdaugh seemed unfazed as his two life sentences were handed out by Judge Clifton Newman on a Friday morning.

“I’m innocent,” Murdaugh, 54, said when given the chance to address the court.

“I would never hurt my wife, Maggie, and I would never hurt my son Paw Paw.”

After hearing his verdict, he was quietly led out of the courthouse. He has been convicted of murder and is currently on trial for a variety of financial offenses that may add up to almost 700 years in jail if he is found guilty.
