On February 23, Netflix unveiled the newest installment of the Outer Banks television series. On the latest episode, we got to tag along with John B and the gang on their biggest journey to date and watch as they put our favorite pogues through the wringer.
The third season of Outer Banks concluded with a cliffhanger that set up a fresh mystery for the treasure-hunting Pogues to investigate in the upcoming fourth season. After the credits roll, the youngsters find out that a strange old businessman invited them on a completely different mission.
This mysterious man produces a 1718 document and displays it to them. It finally clicks with them that this book is a captain’s log and not just any captain’s log; it’s Blackbeard’s.
Who is Edward Teach in Outer Banks?
Blackbeard was a pirate who was also known by his real name, Edward Teach. This actual pirate operated during the years 1720 and 1730. Pope notes in the final paragraph that he passed away in the year 1718, the year the document is dated.
Blackbeard, aka Edward Teach is one of the most well-known pirate icons of all time, creating a seemingly limitless supply of tourist attractions and products. Besides that, he’s been in a bunch of books, movies and TV shows.
Blackbeard has recently been represented in works such as Black Sails by Ray Stevenson and Our Flag Means Death by Taika Waititi. Finally, the infamous buccaneer was memorialized once more in the Outer Banks series.
The rumor is that the pirate hid his own riches as well which have yet to be unearthed. On the other hand, Britannica concedes that it probably never existed. To be sure, they haven’t yet crossed paths with John B., Pope, Sarah, Kie, Cleo or JJ.

If Blackbeard’s ship vanished in 1718, together with all his precious loot, it would be a tragedy for all mankind. Finding this ship and returning Blackbeard’s riches to its rightful owners or a museum is a typical task for teenagers.
There are always numerous groups competing for the same prize on the treasure-hunting circuit. The adolescents will have to compete with other teams, as well as dangerous criminals for this wealth. Potentially, they will also have to deal with modern-day pirates.
