What Happened Between Paul and Mortensen?
According to the statement, Paul is also suspected of striking Mortensen with a “heavy, metal chair” and knocking her 5-year-old daughter unconscious.
The statement claimed that during the argument between Paul and Mortensen, Paul struck Mortensen with one of the stools which then ricocheted off of Mortensen and hit the daughter who had been lying on a couch nearby.
According to court records, the child eventually developed a painful bump on her head. The probable cause statement also mentioned the presence of another child aged 2 at the residence. According to the paperwork, the video also shows Paul choking Mortensen and repeatedly hitting him.
In addition to the phone, Mortensen claims that Paul threw a wooden playset at him, damaging the door of his car. Paul was accused of throwing the chairs and playset because the responding officer claimed he saw Paul hit Mortensen when he arrived.
Ms. Paul’s status as a social media influencer has no bearing or impact on the investigation or outcome of this case, the Herriman Police Department said. To safeguard victims and ensure accountability all allegations of domestic violence are investigated thoroughly and in accordance with state law and established criminal justice best practices.
