Jungkook of BTS has decided to take a sabbatical from his Instagram account. On February 28th, fans were shocked to see that Jungkook had deactivated his personal Instagram account, which had amassed over 50 million followers.
On the afternoon of February 28 KST, Jungkook said on Weverse, the official fan communication platform for BTS, “I left Instagram, I wasn’t hacked. I never used it so I just deleted it. Don’t worry!!”
He followed up by saying, “Hehehehehe I never used it, what could I do!? I just want to use Weverse live every once in awhile.”
He then concluded by saying, “I deleted the app right away and I don’t think I’ll use it in the future! Letting you all know in advance!!”
At the time, Big Hit Music had said, “We understand that he opened Instagram to express his individuality as an artist and to communicate in various ways.”
