If you missed Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther sequel Wakanda Forever in cinemas, we’re here to help you get to know all the new faces that have joined the MCU. Marvel’s final Phase 4 film is finally available on Disney+. In this film in the series, Wakanda and its royal family are in mourning following the death of King T’Challa, and world powers (both visible and invisible) begin to move against the independent country because they sense a destabilization in the area.
Here are the characters and actors to keep an eye on as Marvel enters Phase 5 with a new threat bubbling up from underwater and a brand-new Black Panther after the tragic passing of actor Chadwick Boseman. The characters and actors range from the villainous Namor to a mysterious new US Secretary of State.
Wakanda Forever Characters
Tenoch Huerta is Namor
The ruler of Talokan, a long-gone undersea civilization, is Namor. Namor was uneasy when T’Challa placed Wakanda on the map after the first Black Panther movie because he believed that his kingdom would be in danger due to geopolitical ambition and an invasion. After Ms. Marvel, Namor is the second mutant character to be unveiled in the MCU. He possesses pointed ears and ankle wings.
Even though he will do anything to defend Talokan, frequently to the point of death, he is seen as an antihero. Tenoch Heurta, who has acted in numerous films in Latin America and Spain, portrays Namor, frequently referred to by his people as the feathered serpent god K’uk’ulkan. Tenoch Huerta has also played Rafael Caro Quintero in Narcos: Mexico and Juan in The Forever Purge.
Dominique Thorne is Riri Williams/Ironheart
Young actress Dominique Thorne made her acting debut in the 2018 movie If Beale Street Could Talk, including fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), stars Teyonah Parris and Brian Tyree Henry. She co-starred with Black Panther actor Daniel Kaluuya in Judas and the Black Messiah three years later as Judy Harmon.
Thorne makes her first (but not last) appearance in Wakanda Forever as the talented MIT student and inventor Riri Williams, who has created a set of armor resembling that of the late Tony Stark, better known as Iron Man.
Riri was Tony’s pupil in the comics, but she is on her own in the MCU. Her upcoming solo series on Disney+, Ironheart, will explore her future adventures as she faces off against The Hood, a villain from Marvel Comics (Anthony Ramos).
Mabel Cadena is Namora
Namora, a Talokan warrior who is Namor’s devoted cousin, is portrayed by Mabel Cadena. The actress has appeared in numerous foreign movies and TV shows, but she is best recognized for her roles as Analia in Prime Video’s Dive and Ramira in the 2020 movie Asphalt Goddess.

Alex Livinalli is Attuma
Another Talokan warrior is Attuma (Alex Livinalli). He is a supervillain and nomadic warlord who frequently opposes Namor in comic books. He is also the child of the superhero Andromeda. He thinks he ought to take over Namor’s empire.
Nevertheless, Attuma’s persona emerges as Namor’s comrade in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, ready to follow his lead and aid him in his endeavors. Some people may recognize the Attuma actor Livinalli from his appearances in Chicago P.D., Nashville, Sleepy Hollow, American Horror Story, and The Walking Dead. Additionally, he starred in the Robert Rodriguez sci-fi action film Alita: Battle Angel and the Netflix series Ozark.
Michaela Coel is Aneka
Along with Okoye, Aneka is a Wakandan warrior and a part of the Dora Milaje and the Midnight Angels. She is portrayed by the talented British actress and playwright Michaela Coel, best known for developing and starring in the sitcom Chewing Gum and the comedy-drama series I May Destroy You, for which she received a BAFTA for Best Actress in 2021. She is Okoye’s girlfriend. Additionally, she has made appearances in the Netflix sci-fi series Black Mirror.
Richard Schiff is the US Secretary of State
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Richard Schiff plays the role of the United States Secretary of State, a character whose geopolitical goals are probably not pure. Schiff is a well-known name among fans of The West Wing because he portrayed Toby Zeigler on the NBC political drama series for seven seasons.
Along with starring in numerous films over the past three decades, including The Bodyguard, Man of Steel, and Se7en, he has had significant parts in Ballers and The Affair.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is Valentina Allegra de Fontaine
This one is a little cheat since Black Widow, The Falcon, and the Winter Soldier both include Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. But it isn’t until Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that we learn that her enigmatic character isn’t just the CIA’s new director; she’s also Everett Ross’s ex-wife (Martin Freeman).
Ross’ business actions in Wakanda have upset Valentina, who wants to establish US dominance in the area. Behind the scenes, she has secretly organized the Thunderbolts, a team of antiheroes. The gang’s team-up movie will wrap up MCU Phase 5, and members include US Agent Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, and Taskmaster.
