Despite earlier rumors to the contrary, investigators announced this week that a shotgun was found near the body of the former Clinton adviser with ties to Jeffrey Epstein who died by suicide last year.
According to newly obtained records by the Daily Mail, Mark Middleton’s body was discovered on Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas on May 7, 2022, with a Stoeger 12-gauge coach shotgun located 30 feet away from the corpse. The news organization earlier stated there was no weapon present at the scene, based on a story published the day before.
Sgt. Keenan Carter’s supplementary paperwork describes the elaborate measures Middleton, 59, took to ensure the success of his suicide attempt, including standing on a bench with an electrical cord wrapped around his neck and then shooting himself in the chest.
“It is … believed that Mr. Middleton pulled the trigger on the firearm casing [sic] it to discharge and strike him in the chest and then he fell from the bench causing the extension cord to become tight cutting off his breathing,” the report reads.
The HVAC businessman, who in the early 1990s worked as a special adviser to President Bill Clinton and an assistant to chief of staff Thomas F. “Mack” McLarty, is said to have texted his wife Rhea that he had located “the best place for a sleep in the sun” seconds before his death.
“You are a great Mom and wife babe,” he allegedly wrote to Rhea, with whom he shares two young adult daughters.
“Please be happy today and get some sun. It will make you feel better. I love you.”
With a heart emoji, he signed off the communication. That afternoon, ranch worker Ian Peters found Middleton’s body in the parking lot where Middleton’s SUV had been sitting for a while.
Middleton’s vehicle reportedly included a pistol case and three rounds of buckshot when deputies arrived, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The sergeant went on to say that Middleton, a father of two, likely died within seconds due to the lack of blood in his body. Also, coroner Theodore Brown’s notes are included, in which he writes that Middleton had a history of depression and that his death was formally ruled a suicide.
The improbable theory that the Clintons singled out Middleton because of his connections to pedophile Epstein gained credence from this fact: Seven out of the alleged seventeen times the s*x fiend visited the White House before Middleton left politics in 1995, Middleton signed him in.
It is also said that he took a trip aboard Epstein’s infamous “Lolita Express” plane.
“I went into a nearby trail to the south, then heard my colleague … calling for help,” Peters said of the gruesome discovery.
“I ran towards her, and could see the officers moving towards where she was — and she was pointing towards the overlook … asking, ‘Is that a human? Is that a body?’”
Yet after an investigation in 1996 revealed that Middleton had used his high-profile connections for personal gain, he lost access to the executive suite.

Self-proclaimed Clinton truthers have pounced on comparable fatalities involving Clinton associates, such as deputy White House counsel Vince Foster’s suicide in 1993 and Epstein’s own hanging death while awaiting trial in 2019.
After Middleton’s family asked that the circumstances of his death remain under wraps because they didn’t want the public to see the graphic photographs were taken at the site, documents pertaining to his death have begun to trickle out.
According to the Arkansas Times, Circuit Judge Alice Gray ordered the report to be made public under the Freedom of Information Act notwithstanding her decision in June 2022 to seal the visual content.
