If HBO programming head Casey Bloys is to be believed, the House of the Dragon spinoff of Game of Thrones will return in 2024. A producer told Variety that 2024 “is a good prediction” for the premiere of Season 2, but that was all he would say.
As Bloys pointed out, the 2024 Emmy season closes on May 31, thus Season 2 won’t be eligible for that year’s awards. This means that House of the Dragon will likely not be released until at least June 2024.

HBO is creating a number of potential Game of Thrones spin-offs, including one based on Jon Snow, but Bloys will not be pulled into discussing them except at a very high level. To paraphrase, “a good script is number one priority” is his guiding principle. “Not because I want one or two every year, though it would be nice. I’d want to do that if we can do it depending on the scripts we’re interested in.”

He added:
“You have to develop a lot of things, try things. You never know what’s going to work. So we’re currently doing that. I’m not opposed to any number of shows. There’s probably a natural limit to how many fans want, but I’m open to any as long as we feel really good about the scripts and the prospects for a series.”
Currently, we also have Ten Thousand Ships, Sea Snake, and The Hedge Knight/Knight of the Seven Kingdoms as spin-offs from Game of Thrones. While screenplays are being developed, there is no assurance that any of the shows will ever make it to production.
We have made this article according to information we got from sources. But it is confirmed that House of Dragon Season 2 will not release till the summer of 2024.
