“Meta Verified” starting a paid service for the blue tick that celebrities get on their social media accounts. Meta chairman Zuckerberg announced on Sunday that stars will pay $11.99/per month on the web or $ 14.99/per month on Apple’s iOS. This service will start from Australia and New Zealand this week. If it reviews successfully it will be increased in other countries.
Meta Verified is “a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and get direct access to customer support,” Zuckerberg wrote in posts on Facebook and Instagram. “This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services.”
Later after Musk tweeted about the Blue subscription on the Twitter plan, Meta Verified announce announced it. According to Twitter verification, customers can delete their tweets or can edit them. And the badge will tune in blue for those accounts verified under previous conditions. But on Instagram and Facebook, no change can be seen to previous verified accounts.
“Long term, we want to build a subscription offering that’s valuable to everyone, including creators, businesses, and our community at large,” Meta said. “As part of this vision, we are evolving the meaning of the verified badge so we can expand access to verification and more people can trust the accounts they interact with are authentic.”
