We now have our first look at Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix in their upcoming Joker 2 film. Director Todd Phillips has finally revealed Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix’s roles in the upcoming Joker sequel. Although Lady Gaga has been widely reported to play Harley Quinn in Joker2.

Dr. Harleen Quinzel, may not appear until later in the film. The sequel to “The Joker” titled “The Joker 2” will be produced as part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Elseworlds film franchise. You can see the trailer below in which you see Lady Gaga as cast in Joker 2.

In all honesty, Joker was a perfectly good short story on its own. Despite all the hype and criticism, it deserves credit for breaking new ground in the oversaturated comic book industry. Here comes a sequel, but it will not follow the same artsy, earnest indie path as its forerunner.

The inclusion of Lady Gaga in the cast strongly suggests that this is a musical. Gaga herself confirmed the news in 2022 via Twitter with an 18-second graphic clip set to an instrumental cover of Fred Astaire’s “Cheek to Cheek.”

We now have our first look at Gaga and Phoenix in the film, providing further evidence that this is not just an elaborate joke. The film’s title and a joker playing card are all that’s needed to set the scene for this extreme close-up of Gaga clutching Phoenix’s Joker with a mixture of horror and adoration on her face.

Similar to what it was like the first time I saw The Joker. Lady Gaga shared a Tweet on her official Twitter account about her role in Joker 2.
