Kyle Jacobs, Kellie Pickler’s spouse of nine years, has apparently taken his own life at the age of 49. Jacobs was found dead following a self-inflicted gunshot at the couple’s home on Friday, according to a statement sent by Metropolitan Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron to The Post.
According to the statement, the 36-year-old former “American Idol” contestant woke up and couldn’t locate her husband.
Pickler and her aide did a thorough check of the house before discovering the closed upstairs door. After several failed attempts to enter the residence, the two residents called the police, who arrived at the house shortly before 1 pm local time.
The day before his untimely death, Jacobs and country music legend Lee Brice celebrated the success of a song they co-wrote.
“Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together…Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you Jesus!!!” he wrote on Instagram.
The Minnesota-born lyricist has also collaborated with Kelly Clarkson, Randy Travis, Scott McCreery, Tim McGraw, and George Strait. He even collaborated with Garth Brooks on the song “More Than A Memory,” which became a Top 10 smash in 2007.
